Las Flores Motorway

Southern Alligator Lizard (above, below)

With all of this PCT planning, I havn't been hiking lately. Went for a couple hour hike up the Las Flores Motorway in the Verdugos. Ate some Fritos on the top of Mt. Thom and watched some clouds roll in off the Pacific.

  1. Mark, can you post a gear list at some point? I'm really interested in the logistics. I know you're probably making a list and checking it twice at this point, but how you prepare for the trail is really fascinating to me. I can't wait to hear what worked and what didn't when it's all over.

  2. Sure, I'm pretty excited about the fact that my pack is going to be so much lighter than it was on the JMT. I had way too much stuff on that hike. I think this is just the begining as far as lightening the pack load. I'm excited to see what other hikers are doing and get some good tips.
